A Vision For Our Future

Bicycle and Pedestrians

People live in and visit Sonoma County for its natural beauty. Many who live here take advantage of the beauty by hiking, walking and bicycling through our community. Others bike or walk because it is affordable and healthy.

For whatever reason people use our bike/pedestrian system, we envision a system:

• With a fully implemented Countywide Bike Plan, with trails or designated paths that link all cities and are connected to bicycle paths within cities
• Where people feel safe and comfortable on their bikes or on foot
• That enhances our opportunities for tourism
• That links bike paths to rail stations and bus stops; and
• A path that follows the rail-right-of-way, creating a north- south linkage
